To be poisoned by the illusion of control, rationality, responsibility. These beliefs are vices that I will carry with me for a long time. With great cunning they attach themselves to the notion of whole personhood, meanwhile dismantling it from the inside. Virtues stand no chance. Only the ultimate vice of wanting to be myself can save me.

To be poisoned by the illusion of control, rationality, responsibility. These beliefs are vices that I will carry with me for a long time. Drilled into me by the thousands of years of grandiose delusion we call western philosophy, it will take a feat of utter weakness or lucidity (these two states being basically identical) to overcome them.
